Honestly, I never thought I would get into photography.
In fact, it was actually a pretty odd path for me to get into this field. See, I’m also a professional magician…yep, you read that right. So with this whole magic side of things, I started taking magic-related photos and videos (on my phone) for Instagram which quickly blew up to the point where I had tens of thousands of followers in a matter of a few years. As my following grew, I felt the need to create better photos, which involved buying progressively better cameras as well as teaching myself how to use image editing programs.
Eventually, it was time for me to upgrade to my first ‘big boy’ camera!
Within the first month with this camera, a friend of mine, who happens to be a model, asked if I wanted to do a shoot at the beach and then grab some lunch. All I heard was lunch, so I agreed. I was so surprised with how much I enjoyed taking photos of an actual person (compared to landscapes/architecture) – the photos came out really well considering it was my first go at a portrait shoot. I posted them on a separate Instagram account which lead to new models asking for me to take photos of them which really helped me to get my practice in and build not only a portfolio, but a network of models who I have great relationships with.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to shoot at places such as Miami Swim Week, Zuma Beach in Malibu, as well as with some incredible models.
Besides photography and magic I have a background in psychology, digital marketing/strategy, social media, and sales.
Feel free to get in touch if you’d like me for your next project!
